Class Descriptions
Therapeutic Yoga
“Yoga Therapy is instruction in yogic practices and teachings to prevent, reduce or alleviate structural, physiological, emotional and spiritual pain, suffering and limitations.” Therapeutic yoga is helpful for everybody, but especially useful for people who are recovering from or living with injuries or illness. In Ayurveda we believe we need to treat the whole body, mind and soul and yoga can help with treating all three. This class can be helpful for people who want to learn techniques to deal with high stress, anxieties or physical issues like pelvic floor problems, back issues or other physical problems. The class is small and each client will get personal attention specifically for their needs.Prenatal Yoga
Pregnancy is a time of transition, when new sensations and experiences arise. When practiced during pregnancy, yoga will help you maintain your health and well-being. The class is conducted in a calm, peaceful environment and will help you strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort through asanas (poses) and breath exercises. Yoga can also alleviate many discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.

Qi Gong

Learn the ancient Chinese Practice of Qi Gong to cultivate a better understanding of life force energy as a bridge between ourselves, the earth, nature and the universe. Class consists of breathing exercises, stretches, flowing movements and meditation to create strength with flexibility, harmony, balance and a feeling of being grounded and centered. QiGong amplifies the internal energy of practitioners, enabling them to become full of vitality, emotionally balanced and spiritually connected.

Hatha Yoga

Unifying movement, breath and attention in a mindfully sequenced practice of
asanas, relaxation and meditation. Promoting steadiness, strength and
wakefulness in equal measure with flexibility, equanimity and ease. All levels.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga practice is an inquiry into the dynamic stillness of asana. It is the balanced compliment to the more vigorous practices that emphasize the strengthening and lengthening of muscles and build internal heat. Yin is reflective of those aspects that are stable, unmoving, more deeply hidden, directed toward the earth and difficult to see. The yin shapes, executed through periods of stasis and stillness, expose the joints to skillful pressure targeting the bones, synovial fluids and deeper connective tissues of ligaments and tendons. Yin postures help prevent joint rigidity and immobility. Chi or prana is enhanced and pooled in the bones and joints. Meridians and organ systems are nourished. The body and mind are prepared to sit comfortably in meditation.
